Cabinet of Curiosity Philosophy
The Rare and the Extraordinary
Cabinet of Curiosity was born from a deep appreciation for the rare and the extraordinary. While we love vibrant colours and brilliant cuts, we are equally drawn to beauty in unexpected places. From the unique character of a heavily included salt and pepper diamond to the antique charm of a vintage-cut gemstone, we seek out these rarities because each gemstone holds its own unrepeatable universe.
Our Passion in Craft
We craft our jewellery using a thoughtful balance of traditional and modern handmade techniques. To us, the narrative woven into a skilfully handmade piece is what makes it truly extraordinary. It gives the jewellery the depth needed to carry meaning and serve as an enduring keepsake of your most cherished memories.
Curiosity in a Little Grey Box
We are best known for our small, curated collections: "Little Curiosity." Each release is an invitation to explore a new batch of unique pieces, crafted from unique stones we have personally hand-picked. Opening our signature little box is like uncovering a hidden secret, a tiny, intimate treasure waiting to be revealed.
About the Maker
A Foundation in Design
The design behind Cabinet of Curiosity is rooted in a strong background of spatial design and architecture. While studying womenswear at the London College of Fashion (UAL), the early student design work of our founder Tracy Tong was recognized and exhibited at the V&A Museum, as well as featured in Milk X magazine.
From Sets to Stones
Following university, she worked in London as a multidisciplinary set design assistant to Zoe Bradley. This included building large-scale, structural projects for luxury houses like Graff Diamonds, Montblanc, and Boucheron.
Mastery at the Bench
Today, this eye for structure and composition is miniaturised at the jewellery bench. Backed by over 10 years of physical bench experience and a Gem-A Foundation Certificate in Gemmology, we use this architectural background to beautifully balance delicate, asymmetrical clusters of stones. Every piece is carefully built by hand, bringing together the romance of fashion, the precise composition of set design, and the craft of fine jewellery to create stunning pieces with rare and extraordinary gems.
The Studio & Our Standards
Hong Kong Craftsmanship
Our studio is based in Hong Kong. We work alongside a network of veteran local crafters, combining their traditional bench skills with our love for curated gemstone clusters and playful asymmetry.
Materials & Tools
We craft our jewellery using 14k and 18k yellow gold, paired with natural gemstones and lab diamonds sourced from trusted suppliers. To build each piece with precision, our studio is equipped with professional fabrication and verification tools, including an Orion pulse arc welder, Tanita professional calibration scales, and a Gemoro gold tester.
Verification & Certification
While we do not perform in-house gem testing, upon request, we can send any of our unset gems to internationally recognized laboratories—including GIA, GRS, GUILD, ICA, and AGIL—for official verification and certification.
Press & Recognition
As Seen In
To be recognised by leading fashion and lifestyle publications is an honour that speaks to the quality and uniqueness of our craft. Cabinet of Curiosity is proud to have been featured by prominent media outlets, including ELLE Hong Kong and She.com, as a top-recommended local fine jewellery brand.
